LinkPress turns your WordPress into a link shortener you own: branded short links on your site or a short domain, QR codes with your logo, link-in-bio pages, A/B tests and device or country targeting, and analytics that need no cookies and store no IP addresses. Every post gets a short link and share buttons; scripts and apps use the REST API.

How a Click Is Counted
- The visitor opens /go/; expiry, schedule, caps and the password are checked
- Rules pick the destination (device, OS, country, language) or the A/B rotation does
- The click is stored with country, device and referrer — never the IP; a salted daily hash tells repeat visits apart
- UTM parameters are appended and the visitor is redirected with the code you chose
Installation
- Download the zip from your Library
- In wp-admin go to Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin, choose the zip and activate it
- A new menu entry appears in the admin sidebar; open it
- LinkPress › Links: create the first one; Domains: add your short domain if you have one and press Test
Requirements
- WordPress 6.0 or newer (tested up to 7.0)
- PHP 8.0 or newer
- Pretty permalinks for /go/ links (?lp= works without)
- Optional: GeoGate or SiteStats for countries (the Cloudflare header works too)

Frequently asked
Does it set cookies or store IP addresses?
The analytics use neither: a salted daily hash tells repeat visits apart and is discarded after two days. Only A/B links (to keep a visitor on one variant) and password links (to remember the unlock) set a cookie.
Can I use my own short domain?
Yes. Point it at the same server, add it to the site's host names with a certificate, enter it under Domains and press Test. Every path on that host becomes a short link and its root can show a bio page.
Which redirect code should I use?
302 (default) keeps clicks measurable and lets you change destinations; 301 is cached by browsers and suits permanent moves; 307 keeps the request method.
Can apps create links?
Yes, through the REST API with an application password: create, update, delete and read stats. The bookmarklet shortens any page you are on in two clicks.
How do I get the files after paying?
Straight after checkout you land on your order page with the download button and your licence key. A receipt is emailed to you, and every order stays in My library.
Which licence do I need?
Personal — One non-commercial project. Commercial — Ship paid products. Extended — Resell & white-label. The Licences tab compares them side by side.
On how many devices can I activate it?

How long do I get updates?

Is the download safe?
The file was scanned with ClamAV when it was published. Its SHA-256 checksum is listed under Features → In the download, so you can verify the file you receive.
Do I need an account?
No. Checkout only needs your email. Signing in keeps all your purchases, keys and downloads together in My library.
