AlphaCall for Android is the native app for AlphaCall servers: HD video and voice calls, group meetings, chats and a real phone line with your own extension, all running on your own server (call.alphaxp.net by default). There are no ads and no tracking. 1-to-1 calls are encrypted end to end with a safety code you can compare, and end-to-end meetings keep their key only in the invite link.

Meetings

Start a meeting instantly or schedule a one-off or recurring one with an invitation. People wait in the waiting room until a host admits them; hosts can mute, remove, mute everyone, hand over the host role or end the meeting for all. Meetings can be protected with a password, made end-to-end encrypted, shared on screen, and kept running in picture-in-picture or with the screen off. Captions, notes and a shared whiteboard are built in, and the connection quality adapts by itself from 1080p down to audio-only.

Private by Default

• Calls are peer-to-peer and encrypted with DTLS-SRTP; compare the safety code to know nobody is listening
• End-to-end meetings: the key lives only in the link (#k=...), so the server never has it
• Camera effects and live captions are processed on the phone; no video or audio is sent anywhere for them
• Devices & sessions shows where you are signed in, and signs out any other device

Installation

1. Download the APK on the phone and open it; allow installs from that source when Android asks
2. Open AlphaCall and tap Get started; call.alphaxp.net is filled in as the server
3. Sign in with your Alpha XP account (accounts.alphaxp.net), or create one
4. Allow calls, notifications, camera and microphone so calls can ring and connect

AlphaCall also works in the browser at call.alphaxp.net with the same account.

Requirements

• Android 7.0 (API 24) or newer
• An account on an AlphaCall server (sign in through accounts.alphaxp.net)
• Camera and microphone for video calls
